Signs and Symptoms of Acne Vulgaris

Acne Vulgaris

One type of acne is called acne vulgaris, below are various points that are associated with the signs and symptoms of acne vulgaris.
Blackheads are caused by pores that are partially blocked. The black appearance of the spots is not caused by dirt as some people believe, but instead by the melanin pigment from the dead skin cells.

Whiteheads are caused by pores that are completely blocked. These type of spots have a white appearance which is caused by the bacteria inside the blocked pore turning the sebum tofree fatty acid.

Pustules are larger, red and inflamed pus-filled spots.

Papules are small, red, tender bumps or spots.

Nodules are large hard bumps under the skin's surface.

Cysts are similar to nodules, but can be deeply inflamed and infected.

Doctors prescribe oral antibiotics as a treatment for acne, but these also destroy the healthy bacteria that live in your gut. A lack of healthy bacteria in your gut can actually aggravate acne. There are also a fair few related side effects, these can include thrush which is also known as candidiasis. If you really do have to take antibiotics, take a probiotic supplement to help restore the healthy bacteria.
